Long-Time RCC Customers
Irvington Gas Company, Inc. is a third generation family-owned and operated propane business serving customers in central Kentucky. They also have a sister company called Valley Gas Inc. that distributes natural gas. Over 20 years ago, RCC acquired the company that Irvington Gas was working with, and they became customers of RCC. Throughout this long-time partnership, Irvington Gas has implemented many of RCC’s services, including Cloud-based services, Customer Web Services that include online bill pay, archive services, MOGO (Mobile Office on the Go), and most recently Customer Notifications. RCC has even created some custom tailored programs for Valley Gas to implement into their services. “They took care of some special needs for us, creating a program that downloads and reads forms for us,” states Kerry Kasey, owner of Irvington Gas and Valley Gas.
Customers appreciate notifications
Kerry shared that nowadays, with so many homeowners having wireless video doorbells for security, people are much more aware of who is around their home. He believes that customer notifications eliminate potential problems that could happen down the road.
“Through customer notifications, we are able to send them a message early in the morning before they leave for work, letting them know we are coming. That way, people are expecting us, can put their dogs up, or do anything else needed before we arrive.”
Irvington Gas Co. does yearly tank checks for all of their customers. At this time, customers then get a notification that we have stopped by and that their tank is in good shape and what the levels are at. “When we first started with it, customers were getting a notification stating that we visited, but it was showing a balance on their account, when it’s supposed to show a zero balance.” So Irvington Gas. Co reached out to RCC to fix the solution. Kerry shared, “Whenever you start implementing new technology, there are always going to be hiccups on both ends. But we reached out to support and they got right on it.”
Drivers Love Mogo
Kerry shared that when they first started implementing new products, they jumped in too deep with service and delivery products. They decided to step back and just focus on delivery by implementing MOGO. At this point, Kerry believes that his drivers would tell you they couldn’t live without MOGO in their trucks. Mapping makes it easier for drivers to find locations and ultimately saves the company time and money. “It’s nice to be able to notify our drivers on the fly if changes happen,” Kerry says.
