Ridler Named Chairman of NPGA Service Section Committee

July 8, 2025 by RCC

Just a few short months ago, we shared the exciting news of Freddie Ridler’s appointment to the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) Board of Directors. In that blog post, we mentioned his ambitious goals, including “potentially serving as the Services Section Committee Chair in the future.”

Well, the future arrived faster than expected.

We’re thrilled to announce that Freddie has been nominated by his peers and appointed as Chairman of the NPGA Service Section Committee—a prestigious leadership role that places him at the forefront of industry innovation and collaboration.

A Rapid Rise Through Industry Leadership

This appointment represents a remarkable journey of growth and dedication. Freddie shared, “I was told it takes four to six years to get the chairman of the service section. And I did it in a little under two.” This accelerated path speaks not only to Freddie’s commitment to the industry but also to the respect he’s earned from his peers across the propane community.

The Service Section Committee represents a diverse group of industry partners: software companies like RCC, safety training organizations, collection companies, auto-pay providers, and various consulting firms. These are the companies that provide essential services and solutions to propane marketers nationwide.

Leading the Voice of Innovation

As Chairman, Freddie now serves as the primary liaison between the Service Section and the NPGA Executive Committee. This means he chairs committee meetings, facilitates discussions among service providers, and brings the collective voice of the service industry directly to NPGA’s highest decision-making body.

“When we gather for these committee meetings, we’re bringing together all these different service providers who support propane marketers every day,” Freddie explains. “I’m the voice of the peers, representing everyone from software companies to safety trainers to collection agencies. When our committee identifies issues or opportunities, I get to take those directly to the NPGA leadership. Then I bring their response back to our committee, making sure we’re all connected and moving forward together.”

Making Propane Sexy at the Highest Level

True to form, Freddie is already thinking about how to bring his signature energy and fresh perspective to this leadership role. The “Making Propane Sexy” movement isn’t just a catchy campaign, it’s about bringing excitement, innovation, and a modern approach to an industry that’s constantly evolving.

With Freddie now chairing discussions among the industry’s service providers, there’s tremendous opportunity to spark conversations about cutting-edge solutions, better customer experiences, and innovative approaches to common challenges. His enthusiasm for bringing people together and fostering meaningful connections will serve the entire service section well.

Strengthening Industry Connections

Freddie’s appointment reflects the collaborative spirit that drives innovation in the propane industry. When service providers like RCC have leaders actively engaged in industry associations, it strengthens the entire ecosystem. The relationships built through this kind of involvement naturally lead to better solutions, improved standards, and stronger partnerships that benefit everyone.

His role also ensures that the real-world experiences of propane marketers—the challenges they face daily and the solutions they need—are part of the conversations happening at the industry’s highest levels.

A Vision for the Future

While Freddie is focused on excelling in his current role, he’s also thinking bigger picture.

“Before I retire, I want that on my highlight reel, that I was the chairman of the NPGA.”

This long-term vision reflects not just personal ambition, but a commitment to contributing to the propane industry at the highest possible level. It’s about ensuring that companies like ours, and the customers we serve, have a strong voice in shaping the industry’s future.

Continuing Our Commitment

This reinforces what our customers already know about RCC: we’re not just a software company that happens to serve the propane industry. We’re propane people, through and through. We’re invested in the success of every marketer.

Freddie’s new role as Chairman ensures that RCC will continue to be at the forefront of industry innovation, advocacy, and growth. It’s another way we’re living up to our promise: creating solutions for fuel people, by fuel people.

Congratulations, Freddie, on this well-deserved recognition of your leadership and dedication to the propane industry. We can’t wait to see the positive impact you’ll make in this new role, and we’re excited about where this journey leads next.
