They all have one very important thing in common – 40 years ago, they were just getting their start, just like RCC, who is celebrating forty years of innovation and service in the fuel and propane business!
How the RCC Propane Business Started
Four decades ago, two brothers decided to team up using their combined programming and business skills. Their Dad, Fabe Sheehan, founded a propane business, Sheehan’s Gas in 1952. Brothers, Kevin and Brian Sheehan knew enough about the family propane business, programming, and overall business skills to increase efficiencies using routing and scheduling. What started as an entrepreneurial venture, turned into a propane business software company with a team of over 60 employees that is “For Fuel People, By Fuel People”. Susie Peterson, a sister to the founders, also joined the company as an owner of the company in 1998. Kevin has since retired and sold his share of the company but more talent has joined the management team. Today a second-generation management team is learning the ropes, to ensure the company thrives over the next 40 years. Kyle and Jess are the son and daughter of Brian. Today, RCC has more than 1800 fuel distribution software installations at over 1500 companies, many companies with multiple locations.
