RCC’s MOGO tablet is a popular add-on to RCC’s Fuel Distribution System software because it goes wherever your propane drivers or techs go! MOGO (Mobile Office on the Go) is a handheld device for fuel and propane drivers. It provides real-time communication between your staff and your office, eliminating time-consuming commuting or phone calls, saving time – day in and day out. Fred Ridler, Sales & Marketing at RCC points out, “After MOGO is installed, there are no more handwritten tickets. Calls to the office asking questions like ‘where do they live again, what is the gate code, what is the price, how much do they owe, when was their last delivery, and so on are reduced or eliminated because it is all accessible on the tablet.” Customers like Tex Propane, who are using MOGO with great success, can attest to how it has made a difference for drivers, office staff, and management alike. We interviewed Kyle Sheehan, MOGO Supervisor to find out more about MOGO Installation and training for fuel and propane customers.
How does MOGO installation work?
Sheehan: We offer both on-site training and virtual training for new MOGO setups. Over the years we have realized that on-site installation is the best option. You cannot replace the value of having a dedicated RCC support staff working alongside you to help install and train drivers. We find that the installation goes much smoother and quicker with onsite training.
What does a typical MOGO install consist of?
Sheehan: A typical install consists of an entire week with a member of the MOGO team. Here is a quick breakdown for that week. We first start by installing the units and making sure all of the cabling and connections are set up. We then sit down with drivers and go over the use and functionality of the product in a classroom setting. After the classroom setting, we ride along with drivers in the field making sure they can fully utilize the new program without any complications. We then sit down with the office staff and go over routing to the tablet and uploading completed work as well as any other areas of RCC they would like to cover or have questions on. Finally, we complete a survey and discuss any additional projects that may need a longer time to be completed than we had for the on-site training.
Typical Installation of MOGO Handheld Device for Fuel Drivers
- Install MOGO units including cabling & connections (or review setup is completed by an onsite technician)
- Classroom training on the functionality of each component with drivers
- RCC’s MOGO support staff does ride-along using MOGO to help provide any utilization ideas (This is our favorite part! We love seeing what our customers do day-to-day!)
- Train office staff and answer questions on routing, uploading completed work and reconciling
- MOGO staff completes a survey & discuss any other projects or additional training needed
- We follow up monthly to ensure all is running smoothly for both drivers and office staff
Currently, Rural Computer Consultants has around 2,500 MOGO units operational in the field since it was launched in 2013.

What should fuel companies expect after a MOGO install?
Sheehan: When MOGO staff leaves after the week of training, all drivers are trained and trucks are installed and working properly. Any additional projects that were discussed on-site will be outlined and worked on in a timely manner. We like to follow up once a month to make sure any growing pains or driver issues are completely resolved before the winter months hit.
What advantage do MOGO and on-site training offer?
Sheehan: Since MOGO is a product of RCC, our staff are versed in both the MOGO handheld as well as the functionality of the back office FDS program. With this knowledge, we not only work with the drivers but also the office staff to ensure best practices and procedure is being used to make the entire company run as efficiently as possible saving time and money for everyone involved. This is an advantage in the handheld market when working with RCC that only RCC can provide.
