Putting the Focus on FDS Version 10

May 5, 2021 by RCC

FDS V10 Routing Screen Grid View

The RCC Team is putting a significant focus on Fuel Distribution System (FDS) Version 10 and getting rid of the classic screens.  We understand it is not the best experience for our users to have to jump between new (V10) and old (Classic) screens throughout the day so we have been expanding the V10 team to make sure we can accomplish this goal.

FDS enhancements

We are working hard to program the areas that people still use daily in FDS Classic. These areas include, sales post, generating budgets, and generating finance charges. We put an emphasis on quality to make sure that our customers are satisfied with the product that gets released.  These new enhancements will be available in Service Pack Releases.

Service Pack Release vs Hotfix Release

RCC uses the terms “Service Pack Release” or “Hotfix Release” and it’s good to know the difference and how to determine what version of FDS you are on.  When we release a service pack it will include enhancements that have been worked on.  Hotfix releases are generally for impacting bugs that have been fixed.  Our versions are numbered like this, 10.02.XXxx.  The two uppercase XX’s are the service pack number and the lowercase xx’s are the hotfix number.  When the XX changes, you will know it is a service pack release.

  • Service Pack Release: Includes enhancements to FDS

  • Hotfix Release: Generally for impacting bugs that have been fixed

We will always continue to fix issues with existing areas that are already up and running.  If you do come across anything that does not seem right, please contact RCC Support.
