Employee:
Steve Butts
Position:
Software Support & Training
My first job was:
Bagroom
Specialist/Supervisor at Sahalee Country Club, home of the 80th PGA Championship
in Redmond,
WA (I'm proud). I
cleaned clubs, carts; picked golf balls off the range, and sucked up to members.
:)
Finish this bumper
sticker:
I’d rather be—
playing golf at
St. Andrews and drinking a
Guiness.
Looking back on myself
as a child, I know I was destined for this career because:
Because
employment opportunities in rural America are hard to come
by.
The thing about my job
that challenges me is: Trying
to out-think Kevin
When I’m zoned out in
front of my computer and should be thinking about work, what I’m really thinking
is:
Does Kevin notice
I'm zoned out, nope ... then off to St.Andrews I go ...
My career defining
moment: Directing
groups of support people in the resolution of high severity issues at Target
headquarters. It
gave me confidence, helped me improve my ability to work with people and lead
stressful situations, and was a ton of fun.
My most unusual job
was:
I worked nights
when I was handling the resolution of high severity issues at Target and having
to page high powered people who had 6 and 7 figure salaries at 3 in the morning
was nerve-racking, if not unusual. At least to me at that time in my career.
The only time I
deserved to be fired was:
Do I have a
spokesperson, representative, or attorney? You can direct this question to them.
:)
The most recent book,
CD or movie I’ve purchased is: Movie:
The Prestige (I watch anything Christopher Nolan has directed). Book: You'll See
it When You Believe It (Dr. Wayne Dyer).CD: Tool - 10,000 Days (I look
like a nerd, but love hard rock).
The company mascot or
spokesperson I most identify with is:
Paul Allen. He
uses all his Microsoft money to help the Seahawks try to buy a championship.
When I become enormously wealthy, I hope to follow in his footsteps. :)
My favorite quote or
saying:
"Oh,
a Seahawk fan ... now that's unusual." (A quote from a person that took a tour
of our building. She walked past my office and noticed my Seahawk banner.)
"It's never
crowded along the extra mile." (Dr. Wayne Dyer).
How would you describe
your job to a four year old?
Talking to people
on the phone. That stops my four year old nephew from questioning me further.
