Employee:
Barry Barksdale
Position: RCC-South Support Manager
My first job was:
Carpenter/farmer/egg gatherer(or whatever
else my dad would pay me for)
Finish this bumper
sticker: I’d rather be—
Sitting in my swing on my back deck watching the
trees sway
Looking back on myself
as a child, I know I was destined for this career because:
I
was over-analytical to the point of being annoying at times.
The thing about my job
that challenges me is:
Keeping
up with new technology and getting everything done within the time allotted(only
24 hours in each day)
When I’m zoned out in front of my computer and should be thinking about work, what I’m really thinking is:
What are my 18 and 21 year old daughters doing? Actually they are really good kids but I worry anyway.
My career defining
moment:
Deciding in 1977 that
there just might be a future working with those things called "computers".
My most unusual job
was:
Helping
to gather 8,000 eggs a day by hand
The only time I
deserved to be fired was:
Playing a practical joke on a past boss. We were attending a users meeting in Orlando and
we(his entire staff) convinced him I had been arrested the night before for disorderly
conduct.
The most recent book,
CD or movie I’ve purchased is:
DVD: I
am legend CD: Mothership(Led Zeppelin)
My favorite quote or
saying:
Such a muddy line between the things you want and the things you have to do.
Leaving Las Vegas by Sheryl Crow
How would you describe
your job to a four year old?
What I overheard one of my daughters
tell her friend a very long time ago: Dad works with computers.
